Over 40's Strength Training at Home with Minimal Equipment

home workout Apr 01, 2020

If you do not have access to gym equipment such as dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells or even a ball, it doesn't mean that you can't improve your strength while working out at home.

Today, I've got a circuit that will push the functional strength of your lower body along with really helping to flatten your stomach.

There are no crunches here, just movements that will challenge your balance, core stability, strength of your legs and will even raise your heart rate. Using just a simple weight plate!

If you are starting out, use a 2.5kg (5lb) plate before moving up to 5kg(lbs). If you have the movements nailed then go heavier for an even more strength challenge. This is also great for your teenage kids to master.

No weight plate, no problem. Use whatever you have, be it a dumbbell, barbell, kettlebell or slam ball. A large bottle of water, or a bag would also challenge you with this one.

This workout is a zone 3 session, so if you still want to add more to your workout, I have suggested a zone 4 session for you to go for at the end of the video. If you wanted to be guided through a whole session then check out the playlist that will also be an option at the end.

Please let me know what workouts you want to see next? Mobility (warm up), power, strength or stamina using whatever equipment you may have including TRX (rings or other suspension trainer), swiss balls or anything else.
